The
Government of India has launched a Scheme to establish on an
average one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in each district in
the country, with the following objectives.

To provide
good quality modern education including a strong component
of culture, values, environment awareness and physical
education to talented children in rural areas without regard
to their family's socio-economic condition.

To ensure
that all students of Navodaya Vidyalayas attain a reasonable
level of competence in three languages as envisaged in the
three language formula.

To serve in
each district, as focal points for improvement in the
quality of school education through sharing of experiences
and facilities.
In keeping
with its' objective, the NVS scheme provides education to
talented rural area children, specially children of SC & ST
Communities & Girls students. |
